Hector Murray is a London-based lighting designer for theatre and live performance. His work is shaped by close collaboration and an interest in the relationship between light, sound, space and movement.
His lighting design credits include Sylvia (UK Tour), The Kings Speech (Barn / UK Tour), Room 13 (Barn Theatre), Birds and Bees (Sheffield Theatres / UK Tour), Amélie (ArtsEd), High Society (Mill at Sonning), Constellations (Barn Theatre), A Night with Boy Blue (Barbican), Dalida (Peacock Theatre), What the Butler Saw (UK Tour), Gentlemen Prefer Blondes (Union Theatre) and Acts of Resistance (Bristol Old Vic).
Selected associate lighting design credits include High Society (Barbican), The Unlikely Pilgrimage of Harold Fry (Theatre Royal Haymarket), All My Sons (Wyndham’s), The Importance of Being Earnest (Noël Coward), Till the Stars Come Down (Theatre Royal Haymarket), Grease (Secret Cinema), Wild Rose (Royal Lyceum Edinburgh), Kiss Me, Kate (Barbican) and Opening Night (Gielgud).
Hector received the Association of Lighting Designers’ ETC Award for excellence in lighting design. He trained at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama.
